Workshop on E- government portal held in Mingachevir

A workshop on rules of using Electronic government, most frequently used e-services, and information systems was held in Mingachevir on March 30.

The workshop was realized within the program “Promotion of Human Rights, Democracy and Good Governance in Azerbaijan” implemented by the Eurasia Partnership Foundation using  the funds of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main objective of the workshop, held by experts of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the Regional Human Rights and Media Center Public Union, is to inform citizens living in regions on E-government infrastructure, e-services, e-signature mechanism and e-document interchange, to ensure the wide use of these opportunities created by application of information and communication technologies (ICTs) into social service areas.

Addressing the workshop, the expert of Regional Human Rights and Media Center Public Union Khalid Kazimov spoke about irreplaceable role of e-services, easy use of online services, the role of E-government portal, which makes available e-services of all government agencies in one space in the internet environment.

Then specialists of Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Gunay Huseynova and Elvin Jafarli informed about official documents related to the application of ICT to service areas, legal framework of E-government portal, the creation of the portal and development stages.

After the theoretical information, E-government portal was shown to the participants in practice. The attendees were shown how to login in the portal, service groups, and most frequently used electronic services, as well as tools “Online Consultation”, “Feedback” and “My Services” created on the portal to facilitate citizens’ access to the portal.

The workshop ended with Q & A session and discussions. In the end, the active participants were given username and password to access to E- government portal.
