From now on citizens in Azerbaijan will be able to use online insurance, which is the simplest and most convenient model of insurance, through E-government portal.

Thus, the service “Compulsory vehicle insurance” has been integrated into the portal by Data Processing Center (DPC) - the operator of the E-government portal.

To implement compulsory vehicle insurance online, the user is required to enter the portal E-government and select the service “Compulsory vehicle insurance”  from  among “Other” services.

Vehicle registration number is entered in the window opened, after pressing the “Continue” button, carbody number is required.

When  carbody number  is entered, make and model of the car will be displayed. After that, the citizen enters his/her personal data into the system, clicks the “Continue” button. Then the effective date of insurance is determined. Insurance effective date is determined automatically by the system, but the citizen can choose another date provided that it is not more than 30 days. The names of the insurance companies and payable amount will be shown on the next page.

The citizen chooses any insurance company, pays the insurance premium and takes out an insurance policy.

It should be noted that, unlike the classical form, online insurance has several advantages for safety and comfort. Therefore, most people around the world prefer online insurance. According to statistics, 70% of Britons, 50% of local population in France use online insurance.

One of positive aspects of online insurance is the absence of a mediator. That is to say, electronic insurance means establishing a direct link between the insurer and the client without the participation of broker or agent, which in turn reduces the cost of insurance.
