Azerbaijan ranks first in ICT field among LLDCs

A meeting was held today with representatives of the UN International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) at the Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (MTCHT).

The meeting was focused on sharing the research report prepared on Azerbaijan’s achievements in ICT field as an advanced country among other member countries of the Think Tank.

During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on e-government, e-signature, e-security and e-society as a whole. The guests were provided with detailed information on the work done in this direction in recent years. It was noted that successful results have been achieved in the field of information and communication technologies, which was declared a priority by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was also noted that according to the UN study, Azerbaijan ranked first in ICT field among 32 Landlocked Developing Countries.

The representative of Mongolia from the International Think Tank Sansar Sosorbaram said that as a result of the analysis, it was found that Azerbaijan regularly implemented successful ICT projects.

Representative of Singapore Barney Tan stressed the importance of holding such reporting meetings.

In conclusion, DPC specialists answered guests’ questions about future plans.
