President Ilham Aliyev attends opening of new service center at branch post office №1 in Baku

The opening ceremony of a new service center at the branch of post office No.1 took place after the renovation work carried out by the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT).

The opening ceremony was attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.

Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade informed the head of state about the new service center. It was noted that the services provided to citizens by agencies of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies will be available at new service centers created in postal and telecommunications buildings. The first service center, called “Shabaka” (Network), was put into operation at post office branch №1 at Uzeyir Hajibeyli 36.The centre, whose area exceeds 500 square meters, has been overhauled in accordance with up-to-date requirements.

The President was informed that all software used in the centers “Shebeke” have been prepared by local experts and meet modern standards. Customers can also use a special self-service terminal in the center.

The center is equipped with state-of-the-art laser printers, all-in-one PCs, self-service kiosks, currency exchange, and payment terminals, ATMs, queue management system (Qmatic) used in banking system, all-new post office boxes, as well as a sorting room meeting modern requirements.

The service centers “Shebeke”  also provides  for the organization of all types of telecommunication and postal, banking and financial services. Citizens can apply to the center for telephone installation, Internet connection, payment for all types of communication services, IMEI code registration, benefit from e-government services, e-signature, currency exchange, and purchase of air tickets. The concentration of all services in a single space gives an opportunity for citizens to save time and to make cashless payments.

The head of state and his wife were also informed about the payment system e-GovPay installed in the center. It was noted that it is possible now to make payments for utilities and other payments through this system. In the near future it will also be possible to make payment of state duties with the help of this system. The main goal of the creation of the service centers “Shebeke” is to provide services to the population in a centralized manner in accordance with high standards. Trainings are also conducted for the staff here. Over 60 people have been involved in the work. It was noted that at the initial stage it is planned to open 10 such centers in Baku city. Repair and construction work is currently underway for the opening of such service centers in Khazar, Yasamal, and Binagadi districts, and they will be put into operation in the near future. It is planned to open service centers “Shebeke” in the regions of our republic in the future.

Detailed information was also provided on the innovations implemented in the center with respect to the portals e-signature and e-government. It was noted that citizens wishing to go to different countries for travel and leisure can also purchase air tickets here at favourable prices. The centers will serve citizens on a daily basis from 9 am to 8 pm without a break.

After touring the new center, President Ilham Aliyev wished the staff success and gave his instructions and recommendations.
