Workshop on “Future health care facility” was organized in Baku by “Microsoft Azerbaijan” with the support of Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. The workshop, organized in Azerbaijan for the first time in the CIS countries by “Microsoft Azerbaijan”  and intended for senior officials of medical facilities, is aimed at demonstrating innovative and advanced  technologies in the field of healthcare that are considered part of “National Development Plan”.

Speaking at the event, Director of Data Processing Center (DPC) of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elnar Asadov spoke about close cooperation with Microsoft Corporation. DPC Director said: “Our aim is to integrate the existing medical information systems into the national healthcare network and issue digital prescription.” Elnar Asadov also said the protection of personal data when providing e-services through E-government portal is one of main tasks set before us: “Therefore, enhanced electronic signature certificates should be used as a means of basic identification.”

These certifications are issued by National Certification Services Center, which was established with direct participation of Microsoft company. Just that is basis of security in the field of protection of personal data. By the way, I would like to note that the use of new-generation ID cards in Azerbaijan will significantly increase the number of citizens with electronic signature in the near future. And this will ensure the protection of citizens’ personal data when using e-health services.”

DPC Director also said that a particular attention was given to the development of e-health in  the  “Strategic Road Map for the development of communication and information technologies in the Republic of Azerbaijan.” Speaking on necessary issues to be realized in this context in the future, Elnar Asadov noted the priority of important activities, such as creation of e-health program, creation of a central electronic medical record system, integration of existing medical information systems of different platforms into the national healthcare network, creation of general standardization system and issuance of digital prescription. According to him, the latest technological equipment and software will be used for the realization of these activities: “Licensed software to be used here will play a special role in ensuring the security of information, like other e-services, the integration of services in the field of healthcare into electronic government portal in accordance with international standards will lead to the safe use of these services in the digital space.”

In conclusion, Director Elnar Asadov said the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies will provide full support to the successful implementation of current processes.
